Meet Julie - Master NLP Practitioner
Born in Liverpool, Julie attended Litherland High School before going on to train as an accountant in her younger years. She moved away from her home city in her early 20’s, and was working as an accountant when she felt the call to do something… more. She wanted to make a difference.

Background in health care
Julies first career was as a cost and management accountant. She quickly realised however that her true passion was in helping people overcome challenges. So she decided to train as an Occupational Therapist, and went on to work in a variety of settings, focussing on both the physical and psychiatric aspects of OT. She moved to Holland and continued her work there.
Julie worked in rehabilitation, mental health services (including acute mental health), and addiction recovery. She also worked with older adults.
She loved her career, and this was where she became acutely aware of the links between the physical and mental elements of recovery.
Julie enjoyed the fact that she was able to work alongside the ‘medical model’, rather than in it, which gave her more freedom than is granted to nurses and doctors. She continued to develop her knowledge and training throughout this time, and trained in both massage, and body psychotherapy to enable her to offer her patients the best and most appropriate care options.
A personal journey
Julie has 3 children (as well as 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 7 chickens!) But it was when her younger son was born that things changed for her. Dan has Cerebral Palsy, and as he grew Julie became aware that his disability meant that he was going to require a great deal of care. Initially she gave up work so that she could offer him the support he needed, and it was around this time that Julie became interested in Bowen Therapy as a tool to help him.
She trained as a Bowen Therapist in 2005, primarily so that she could improve her son’s quality of life, and then started a small practice to help others too. She returned to Occupational Therapy part time, and continued to practice Bowen Therapy alongside this. When the family returned to Julie’s home city of Liverpool, Julie left her Occupational Therapy career altogether, and focussed her time on running her Bowen Clinic. This gave her the flexibility to be there for her family as they needed her, whilst still meeting and helping others.
Becoming a master NLP Practitioner
Julie had used Neuro Linguistic Programming during her time as an Occupational Therapist, when it first started to gain recognition as a beneficial tool in treating psychiatric conditions in the UK, during the 1990’s. So, when she met an NLP trainer through a local networking group, she was already familiar with the good it can do.
Julie decided to train as an NLP Practitioner in 2018, and went on to qualify as a Master NLP Practitioner in 2020.
Since then, she has focused her client work on Breakthrough, her intensive NLP Workshop, and has been helping people to live better, more fulfilled lives ever since.
